Eating Sideways

This little munchkin eats all of her food sideways.  All of the crackers go straight up and down in her mouth and her sandwiches/bread go parallel with her face, like she is eating through the middle of the bread.  Silly Kiddo.
Kind of weird and kind of cute, just like her mom!

Here are some other random pictures that I have had on my camera ready to be blogged.  We took Mike to go see the Horse Farm since we went without him last time.

I think this one is my favorite

Let Them Eat Cake!

There are some kids who don't like to get messy.... well, I don't have one of those. Allie loved her cake to the fullest - eating half and wearing half. She loved getting all messy and just squished it around. I think the pictures tell the story a bit better.
She took a much needed mid-party bath before presents

Allie is 1!!!!

This year has gone by so quickly; it seems like yesterday she was just born. We have quickly gone from this picture, to this!

(although this is my usual view of her, running away!)

These are a few of our favorite things we love about Allie:

-loves to play chase around the couch

-loves to be scared

-loves to empty out baskets, dryers, laundry baskets

-loves to read books, even if she moans the whole time (video to come soon)

-still doesn’t like her carseat

-loves her blankie GG shaw made for her

-loves to eat peas, fishes, and anything we are eating,

-would live outside if we let her

-gets really excited and inhales really loud and long

-is content to play by herself unless I am in the kitchen and then insists on being picked up so she can see what I am doing.

-loves to open caps/ lids with her teeth

-always wants to see everything and will pull up on tables/counters to peek over the edge

-likes to brush her teeth (chew on the toothbrush and suck on the toothpaste)

-still sometimes eats paper

-loves stuffed animals and gives them hugs whenever she sees one

-doesn’t like to be behind a closed door – wants her options open

-doesn’t need much sleep and likes to wake up early

-always, without fail, takes her shoes off while in her car seat, and if it if a long ride the socks come off as well

-can sign for bird, water/drink, all done, lights, and says mom and dad, this and kitty and dog

-loves soft blankies

-hates getting her diaper changed

-likes to make cool noises by pounding on things

We just love our Allie. She is such a happy, smart, friendly baby and we could not even imagine life without her. Happy Birthday Allie, we love you!

White Horse, I Get a Dollar!

Growing up, whoever saw the first white horse of a long trip got a dollar (he always seemed to win).  Mike was gone all of last week interviewing for residencies and I needed a break, so Mike's Parents came over Saturday and took Allie and me to Millcreek Farm which is a retirement farm for horses.  They have 143 horses, 11 dogs and 1 cat according to their tally.  The horses are either retired race horses, abandoned or abused horses or old police horses.  We just had to bring a couple of carrots as our entrance fee and we spent the afternoon with the horses.  Allie loved being outside and seeing all of the animals.  It was nice to get out, and it was even better to get Mike back after being gone for 8 days!
There were a couple of miniature horses at the very beginning.  We gave Allie some carrots to feed the horses, but she didn't understand why she should give it away instead of eating the carrot.
It was beautiful, very family friendly and very clean!
This horse wanted her carrot and kept trying to get it
She finally figured out to share with the horses, but she would then try and eat the carrot that she just fed to the horse.  Yuck!
This same horse REALLY wanted her carrot and she would not let go.  She kept a tight grip on it until we got to the pet store to go see the puppies afterwards.  Can you tell she is her father's daughter?  She LOVES kitties and puppies, and I have made leaps and bounds in my fear of animals.
Oh how we love this little spunky girl!  She is quite the independent child, never wanting to hold our hands while walking or feeding her food, etc.   I can't believe she will be 1 year old this week... crazy!

Lunch with Allie

I thought that I would give an glimpse into the life of Allie by letting you eat some lunch with us!  Lucky you!
Lunch: Pasta and Green Beans
"Oh, how does this work?"
"This is how Mommy does it..."
"Much easier!"
"Mmmm"
"Oh wait, look outside... a birdie!"
(We have 4 birds that come and eat Allie's leftovers outside our door)
"Did you see the birdie? "
"I think I'm done.... here, I'll take my bib off for you mom."
"Oh wait, impromptu hide and go seek!"
"Where is Allie?"
"Peak a Boo!"
"I got you!"
Please do join us again!  We always love visitors!
