Easter Morning 2014

The Easter bunny came to our house and brought some new sports toys - a soccer ball and baseball bat and ball.  He topped it off with some flashlights and chocolate bunny.

I also made the girls some easter skirts and they got to pick out the fabric - they chose the one with both their favorite colors, pink and purple.  Happy Easter!

Arizona Museum of Natural History

During spring break I took the kids to the Natural History Museum, but forgot the camera.... and Mike.  So, we remedied the problem and brought the camera and Mike along with us this time to see all of the dinosaur fossils, dig for some bones and pan for gold.

We also saw a huge scorpion and might have been put in jail for a little while.  The first time we went there, Hadley and Allie were in the jail cell and I started closing the door saying they were in jail.  Well, Hadley lost it and cried for a long time, thinking she really was in jail.  Poor girl.

Miles, as always, was along for the ride - and my arm got a good workout as always.

Outside, they have an area to use some brushes to find some fossils and an area to pan for gold.   Much time was spent out here for sure.  The museum ended up being more fun than we thought, and with our POGO pass, was not additional cost.  Hooray!

Miles 7 months

Oh bud, you are so cute and are getting so grown up!  You had started to get up on your knees and hands, but had not crawled yet.  A little bit later than your sisters, but you are about twice their size so I don't blame ya.  You started baby food and eat it pretty well.  You don't like baby cereal, but I don't either!  You have been a horrible teether and have 2 teeth so far.  Let's hope we finish up soon.

We love ya bud!

Easter Egg Coloring 2014

Each year, the girls get a little more excited about the traditions that we have started and easter egg coloring was up there for sure.  FHE activity for the win!  It seems like every year, they keep adding more dye drops in the packets, but they seem to not be any more colors optional, just lots of cups.

Miles watched the fun while eating some peach puffs.  Yum.
This year, Hadley and I worked together while Allie and Mike made their own.

Miles was keeping an eye on the finished eggs, just not a hand on them.

The girls were very excited about their eggs and kept wanting to see them in the fridge multiple times throughout the day.   Too bad they didn't want to eat them.

Sister Troubles

You know you have sisters when you get covered in Dora stickers.

Miles also got to have his first bubble bath with his sisters as well.  True excitement there.

Oh Hadley,  you always make our day a little more exciting.  That smile always gets us... every time!

The wise man built his house upon the rock!

We departed from our normal weekly adventures this week. We stayed home instead to listen to our modern day prophets! As we watched conference, we had to find a way to help keep the girls entertained, so we repurposed a large box that was sitting around in the garage. In the end we created a great little playhouse for the girls.

Hadley showing off the new spacious accommodations.
A house complete with attic ventilation, hinged door, flower box, and three windows!

The girls all made paper flowers to plant int he flower box.

After the session we all went outside to paint the new masterpiece.

Carnival time!

Rach found this interesting little park over in Phoenix for us to go visit. It is kind of like a carnival ride graveyard, with lots of really old carnival rides on permanent display. They are great rides for little kids because they don't go very fast or high, but they move with flashing  lights and music! So after a busy Friday at work we headed down to see what it was all about.

Anyplace with a carousel is top notch fun for the Meldrum girls.

Including the big Meldrum girl!

They had an airplane ride.

And a roller coaster dragon!

There was a sky ride that went waaaayyy up in the air. Allie didn't think it was too scary though (even with daad trying to hype it all up).

We ended the night with one last carousel ride.
This time Miles was awake and got to participate in the festivities.
