It's Electric.....

We attended our 2nd Tempe Christmas Light Parade this year and boy did we have fun!  The weather was beautiful, no coats or even long sleeves needed.  We brought our own glow paraphernalia and treats and had so much fun!  The girls sat on the curb and got showered with candy (mostly peppermints) and Miles ooh'd and ahh'd over the lights and sounds.  Next year we need to remember to bring drinks and more snacks, but fun was had by all.

This classy one was the only float I took a picture of.  They had a lot of fun ones with bands and dancers and such.  Such a great way to start off this holiday season

Entz Turkey Trot... the beginning

So I assume that this will be the first of many Turkey Trots throughout the years, and it being our first, Allie did pretty well.  The kindergarten classes all lined up and they run a lap around the school. Allie was one of the first girls back around and said she ran the whole time.

She is now fired up to start practicing so she can win a ribbon next year.  I told her we have some time but she wants to start running with me each day.  Guess I should because I have not been so great about exercising lately.  Go Allie!

We are the champions

Today marked the end of Allie's first season of soccer. She had a lot of fun and got a little better over time (especially after we told her it is okay to take the ball from he other team). We learned a lot about committing to a season long sport as well.

Hadley was bundled up since it finally cooled off here.

Allie lost her orange socks so instead she got to wear pink tiger socks from mom.

After the game she got a big hug from her coach.

The entire team got some way cool trophies.

Allie was very proud to finally have a trophy like dad. It will be prominently displayed in her room now to show everyone her very own trophy.

Princess Rainbow

Hadley got to celebrate Thanksgiving a bit early with her preschool class.   They all got to dress up like Native Americans, make some pottery and necklaces as they had their feast.

Hadley wore this around all day and was so proud of her outfit she helped make.
Here she is with her friend Blake who we carpool with. So cute!

Zoo Trip

For our Veteran's Day holiday we decided to go to the zoo. We really enjoy the zoo, but do not get to go as often here since it is so far away. As a result, Miles has spent very little time at the zoo. So we decided to fix that today.

Many of the animals were too far away for Miles to really see them, but not this monkey. Miles was standing there trying to see something and the monkey decided to do the same thing (they stared at each other for the first couple minutes). There were a lot of other animals to see even if we do not have photographic evidence.

The girls liked the playground part as much or more than the animals. They wanted to stop and play at every chance they got.

Everyone wanted to try and ride the elephant.
Look how much fun they are having in this picture.

It was a great trip to the zoo!

Candy Apples

I decided we had way too much Halloween candy, so we had to get rid of some. Of all the options for getting rid of candy, the one Rach agreed to was making candy apples! So we spent our family night this week making caramel apples and giving some away (that way you don't eat the candy and the home made caramel).

Miles was really excited to be around all that candy
(I don't think he realized it was going to be given away).

Look at all those candy makers at work.
Prepping apples with kabob skewers since we didn't have any other sticks.

Dipping them in the crushed candy pieces.

Happy bakers displaying their fancy wares.

We let the girls pick one apple to share for family night treat
(they really wanted the ones with M&Ms on them).

Fun family night and delicious apples. It was a fun way to get rid of some excess candy and be nice to some of our neighbors.
