Growing up, whoever saw the first white horse of a long trip got a dollar (he always seemed to win). Mike was gone all of last week interviewing for residencies and I needed a break, so Mike's Parents came over Saturday and took Allie and me to Millcreek Farm which is a retirement farm for horses. They have 143 horses, 11 dogs and 1 cat according to their tally. The horses are either retired race horses, abandoned or abused horses or old police horses. We just had to bring a couple of carrots as our entrance fee and we spent the afternoon with the horses. Allie loved being outside and seeing all of the animals. It was nice to get out, and it was even better to get Mike back after being gone for 8 days!
There were a couple of miniature horses at the very beginning. We gave Allie some carrots to feed the horses, but she didn't understand why she should give it away instead of eating the carrot.
It was beautiful, very family friendly and very clean!
This horse wanted her carrot and kept trying to get it
She finally figured out to share with the horses, but she would then try and eat the carrot that she just fed to the horse. Yuck!
This same horse REALLY wanted her carrot and she would not let go. She kept a tight grip on it until we got to the pet store to go see the puppies afterwards. Can you tell she is her father's daughter? She LOVES kitties and puppies, and I have made leaps and bounds in my fear of animals.
Oh how we love this little spunky girl! She is quite the independent child, never wanting to hold our hands while walking or feeding her food, etc. I can't believe she will be 1 year old this week... crazy!

Cute pictures. You're really good at photography! Has it really been a year? She's such a sweet little girl, I know you guys have loved this past year with her. No doubt!
