The Impossible Quiz

I have to admit, I totally got hooked and could spend hours on this game.  You have to think out of the box and let me know how far you got!  Enjoy!

What to do when you hubby is gone

Mike was able to attend the APhA conference in San Diego this past week over spring break (a new phenomenon to BYU students).  I really think that he just wanted to go to the zoo, but nonetheless, he is a hard worker so he should be able to play sometimes.  Too bad for me, I was not able to go with him.  Not to fear, I still had a fun time without him.   I went with Stacy (a friend from work) to the Blue Man Group, How to be a rockstar 2.1 show.  It was amazing, fun, and was a  sensory overload.  These were not the greatest pictures but was quite hard to take quality ones.  I would recommend anyone go to their show if you are at all in their vicinity.
I also babysat for some friends on Friday night and had a blast doing it.
I decided that since I was home alone on a Friday night, I might as well let someone else go and have a fun date night.   Jack (1.5) and I played, read books, rode his zebra and ate dinner.  Quite fun!
I also got to go with Mike's Parents to the Quilt festival in Trenton (a VERY small town in the backwoods of Florida).  It was the first year and was TOTALLY FUN!  They had the street shops lined with quilts hanging from the overhang the front of the store.  Some were hundreds of years old and some were more modern.
It was a lot of fun and I was reinvigorated to start quilting more often.

Lettuce attack and the reason why people live in Florida.

So on Wednesday I took a picture of my little spring garden with the lettuce and you can't really see but there are also little green onions and carrots along with my Bougainvillea plants as well.   Well, as you can see, someone must have seen my take my pictures or something like that because the next day when I got home I saw this...  someone went through and slashed and pulled out all of my lettuce plants for no reason at all.  I was so sad and mad as I could see that there were little shoe prints in the middle of the soil.  I am a bit over it now, but was quite depressed when it happened.   This, on the other hand, is one of the happy reasons why I love florida!  These are just wild flowers that were growing on the side of the road.  Mike and I were dropping off a lady from church at her house which is off a dirt road and there were hundreds of these flowers along the side.  They were so beautiful that I had to stop and pick some.  Yea Flowers!
Oh, and did I mention the beautiful 80 degree weather we are having?  Love the spring time with low humidity and warm weather!

I Married a Nerd!

So, to boast a little, I married a nerd! Mike this weekend was inducted into the Honors program in the School of Pharmacy at UF. He is in the top 20% of his class and is actually more in the to 5%. They had a little program where he had to sign a book and then light a candle and stand with his other classmates. A little cheesy I must admit, but I was a proud wife! Mike does not really get into these types of things, but whatever helps with post-graduation life we will do. Great job babe!

Mike with some of his classmates also in the top 20%

They had everyone sign the book with their backside to the audience, so sorry for a little backside shot.

This weekend we also bought a snorkeling set for our upcoming cruise with the Holmes! Mike originally had it on but refused to take a picture with it on. Therefore, you get me!

Change isn't always better- Tale of the Chocolate licorice

So I was at Wal-Mart last night buying a few things and decided that I needed some chocolate licorice since I have not had any in a really long time (Christmas).  Chocolate licorice is something that brings dear memories from Grandma Shaws to Family trips, etc.  Not everyone likes it and some think it is weird, but in my family, chocolate licorice is the best.
Anyways, I get home, sit down on the couch and open up the bag of licorice to only be sorely disappointed:  They have changed the formula of chocolate Twizzlers!  I don't know how many people had had the twizzlers licorice that is rainbow colors and has tropical flavors and such.  It is more red-vine textured but not as good as red vines.  It is softer and quite frankly is not licorice.  Well, they have now changed the chocolate licorice to be like the open-ended softer rounder type and it stinks!   I used to love to texture and the pliability of Chocolate Twizzlers and now they have ruined it!  Unless they change back I am not going to buy chocolate licorice ever again.  I hope this is just an East-coast thing and those of you who are out in Utah can still enjoy real chocolate licorice.
As for me...  I am hoping Twizzlers will come to their senses and in the mean time I will write them letters asking them to change back.  I hope it will missserably fail and go back to the original formula.  So long Chocolate Licorice.
