Just when you thought that Football was done... it is spring football time and that means, The Orange and Blue Scrimmage! In Gainesville, the 2008 Football season has officially started. On my way home from work I drive by the practice field and for the past couple of weeks, the team has been out practicing along with about 200 people watching practice every afternoon! This was a new phenomenon to me... watching PRACTICE! It is mostly the older people who have time in the afternoons to go see how "them Gators" are looking for next season. Coming to Gainesville has explained a lot about Mike and his love for football.
ESPN Game day was there starting in the morning and going all through the game. One of our Friends, Ryan, was selected as one of the "Fastest Fans" and raced against one of the fastest football players in the 40 yard dash. He did well considering that he did not hear the starting whistle and was about a second off the lead. You can kind of see him in the second picture. Oh, and there were more than 60,000 people there! Crazy!
This is a lady who has probably been to every Gator football game since she was in College! (she is probably at least 80) He sticks her tickets in the brim of her hat after each game. Now I have something to work for! With only about 7 home games a season, that is a lot of tickets!
