Halloween Fun!

Last night we got had FHE with Kelsy and Logan as our 2nd annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. Last year our 6 legged spider did not quite cut it, so we all decided to step it up this year and actually use some patterns. I would say that I was quite impressed with this year's results. Mike and I did the monster trick or treating together as there is a pumkin crisis this year. We searched all around Gainesville looking for pumpkins and finally found some but they were either too small or moldy. Kelse and Logan found some around town and were nice enough to pick one out for us. We also borrowed their carving tools, so we were not quite as prepared, but we decided we were going for "quality instead of speed" It was a fun night and we ended it with snickerdoodles! This was at our ward fall festival and to preface it a bit, everything at this party has to be somehow scripture/church related from the costumes to the trick or treating to the games we played. I was incharge of a game so we played "Scripture Twister" and you can guess how that went with a bunch of 9 year old boys. I think we ended up having a bubble blowing contest with all of the gum that they won from playing it so many times. I am proud to say that I held up the Naylor side of the family and won the contest. Little did I know that winning a bubble blowing contest could make cool with 9 year olds! This picture is of one of the rooms that was decorated for the "hallowed hallways" and it was Jonah and the Whale. It was quite creative and very cute.

Rach, that sounds like fun and I can promise you that gum chewing and bubble blowing is a definite go with 9 year old boys! My 10 year old would have loved it!! Pretty much anything that makes noise and involves sugar!!

So you must have a huge budget, cause that would never fly in our ward. But it looks like a ton of fun! That was a pretty spiffy whale.
