Take me out to the ballgame

This weekend we went out for some family fun time. The Chicago Cubs spring training is held here in Mesa every year and the city just built a brand new stadium. So we went out to see the new stadium and enjoy the games and fun they had there as well. The park was pretty cool, and seems like it would be a great place to go watch a game some time.

They also had a small field set up in the park next door for the kids to play baseball. Allie got her first chance at hitting a ball (and did okay, only took a few times to hit it).

However we need some serious work on running the bases (she ran all the way to the outfield fence and circled around that way).

Hadley wanted a turn too. She needed a little more help.

After she hit the ball she got scared and didn't want to run by herself, so I got to round the bases too.

The girls each got a Cubs baseball for hitting a home run!
They had a good time playing with them for the rest of the evening.

There is also a new park by the stadium with a fish pond, playground, and this super cool fountain. The girls liked watching it because it changes color and the water dances to music.

Good picture of all the girls.

There was a beautiful sunset over the fish pond. Miles had fun watching everything going on too.

One family picture in front of the fountain.

To top the day off, they ended with fireworks! Great family adventure.
