It's the Great Pumpkin

As per Meldrum family tradition, tonight was pumpkin carving night! For Family Home Evening we made two wonderful pumpkins to show off for our Halloween fun this week. Both girls had been asking about carving pumpkins for the last few days, so the proper amount of enthusiasm had been bottled up.

As we started to cut open the pumpkins, Allie wanted to jump right in and help (and she almost stuck half her body inside the pumpkin trying to get all the "guts" out). Hadley preferred to watch (she didn't want to touch the gross stuff inside).

Allie enjoyed the pumpkin guts so much she saved them in a bag to take to school for show and tell. Hadley decided to stay clean instead (at least clean from the pumpkin, she still had the normal cover of slime from a fun day at home though).

This year we made Tinker Bell and Peter Pan pumpkins (to stick with the Meldrum theme for Halloween). The girls thought they were both beautiful!

At the close of the evening, they both wanted to blow out the candles before scampering off to bed.
