For Labor Day we went on another fun adventure. I told the girls that we were going somewhere fun, but didn't tell them where. They were captivated for the entire 2 hour car ride up to the Wild Adventure Park in Camp Verde. I decided that the best way to spend a holiday is with wild animals (at least different ones than I spend every other day with)! Both girls cheered when we drove into the park and they saw the giant pictures of animals. This was an animal sanctuary with native and African animals. We rode a safari through the African plains, fed big cats, and watched the animal shows.
Getting ready for the Safari!
The girls were supper excited by our adventure.
During the safari ride, we got to feed a giraffe from the bus!
He got up close and personal with everyone.
After the safari we walked back and found some extra carrots on the ground,
so we got to feed the giraffe twice. Score!
There were a bunch of animal shows that we got to watch. There were snakes (which we got to pet), tigers and hyenas. We learned a lot about all of them and got close enough to touch most of them (although we only pet the snake, mom didn't think we should pet the large carnivores).
One of the best parts of the day was feeding the tiger! When we got there we couldn't decide if we should pay the extra few bucks to feed a tiger, but then I realized when will I ever have another chance to feed a tiger!! So we each had a turn feeding this beautiful animal.
(This was directly after the tiger show in which they showed how they hunt and attack their prey, good thing there was a tiny chain link fence in between us.)
Overall, another great family adventure.
