Fire! Fire!

Yesterday we were Skyping with my parents when I saw an email pop up from the big boss saying that there was a huge fire at The Laurels... which is where we live!  We had heard some sirens about a minute or two before that email but thought that it was just someone playing around.  I jumped up and ran outside to see 11 firetrucks, 35 firefighters right outside my building.  I run out and see that the building 3 buildings down is completely on fire with flames and black smoke billowing up into the air.  Ash was falling everywhere and everyone was out trying to figure out what happened.  According to the newspaper today, a lady called the police claiming that there were dead bodies in the dumpster..... hmmm. (This was not her first time calling the police for similar situations)
Anyway, the police man noticed some smoke coming from this lady's building and ran and got everyone out of that building.  Everyone was safe, but it completely burned the the whole building.  Looks like the fire might be suspicious.  Time to get renters insurance!
While going out this morning to look at the damage, we took some cute picture of Allie!
I know this picture is blurry, but it shows her cute whole face smile.

She keeps on growing!

I put Allie in her carseat to go get Mike and I thought that she looked so old, so I took a quick picture.  She is getting so cute!

Why I love my Mom

I hate to brag, but I think I have THE best mom in the world!  I am sure that 3 other people would agree!  My mom is such a great example to me of what a true Mother of Zion is:  Honest, smart, loving, nurturing, cultured, faithful, etc.  There are many stories that I could tell about all of these virtues, like the time when I was in 2nd grade and I had cheated on my spelling test and she told me she would rather have me get an F than to cheat on anything, or how she taught me correct English, which I use all the time.  The best example she has been to me is how she raised 4 great children who all got married in the temple and are faithful members of the church.  I am truly grateful for her amazing example and for her loving friendship that I now have with her.  I used to just sit at the kitchen counter and talk with my mom in the afternoons and now though I only get to do it from here in Florida, I still enjoy her love, support and counsel.  Thanks mom, I love you!

2 Months!

Allie is growing so quickly!  She had her 2 month appointment this week and she was so tough during her shots, she only cried for about 30 seconds!  We totally love her and look forward to each new day as she changes each day.  She is now smiling all the time and loves to stand up on her chubby little legs.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 11 lbs 14 oz      72nd percentile
Height: 24 inches          84th percentile
Head:    16 1/2 inches   64th percentile
I guess that is what you get for having 2 tall parents!  I would like to note the fact of her head as only the 64th percentile is a great accomplishment for my family, we all have large noggins!  She is starting to look more like me (chubby cheeks and her face shape), but still has Mike's eyes. She also has lots of rolls all over her body, love them! We love you Allie!
